G.Y.A.W.S. Scholarship
Girl You are Worth Something! Those are the words of our founders great grandmother Ida Belle who was born on May 13, 1909, who believed in the importance of education. It is our belief that continuing education is critical for our sisterhood worldwide, especially in impoverished communities. We invite first time freshman women who have chosen and have been accepted into any Historically Black colleges and universities to apply.
Eligibility Criteria
High School GPA
Applicants must have a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or above to be considered for this scholarship opportunity. This requirement ensures that candidates have maintained a solid academic performance throughout their high school education.
High School Senior
All applicants must be entering their freshman year of college. This requirement ensures that we are supporting students who are beginning their higher education journey.
HBCU Acceptance
All applicants are required to provide a letter of acceptance into a HBCU for 2025. This documentation is essential for the application and decision process.
Essay Question; 500 words
In a world where access to higher education is often limited to many, why is pursuing college important to you? How do you hope your educational journey will inspire and empower future generations of girls, particularly those who may follow your footsteps by attending an HBCU?
